Everyone zonked out on the bus as soon as we got on as usual. Mid morning we got into Slovakia and to the capital, Bratislava. Apparently it's really popular for stag nights/weekend because it's very cheap to fly there. We got out very briefly at the castle as the weather went a bit sour - crazy windy and looked like rain. Then went into the old town where there was lots of unusual statues and very cute streets and buildings. Had a smoothie and shared a yummy hazelnut mousse cake in this nice cafe before hopping back on the bus. We split into teams and did a quiz where we all wrote 3 questions each. We came 2nd.
Got into Budapest and went on a bit of a driving tour round the city. Got out at heroes square and then over the bridge and up the hill to the fishermans bastion. A crazy awesome castle/monument with amazing views of the city. We then headed up to the citadel where there was a big liberty statue and again, amazing panoramic views. Got into our hostel in the city and met four new people joining the tour. Headed off through the cool streets to where we were eating that night, which was this basement restaurant you walked down stairs into. The meals were huge - I got a steak and regretted it - they just don't know a good steak in Europe. Abby had the traditional goulash which I tried a bit of and it was delicious - should have had that. We went back to the hostel for a few drinks before heading to this really cool warehouse dive bar. We ended up playing charades for ages there - someone had an app on their phone and it was just so funny everyone acting out and trying to explain things without saying the name (bit more like celebrity heads than charades). We went to this other club briefly but didn't stay long as it was all smoky in there. Fell into bed about 2.30
