Left for the bus station and waited an extra 45mins or so for our late bus and then embarked on what should have been a ten hour bus ride. After a silly woman held us up for three hours at the border we ended up getting to Salta at 11pm where we quickly dumped our bags and rushed to McDonald's as we had been living off snacks all day!
Up early and headed an hour out of the city to an amazingly beautiful farm - very Spanish, where we went horse riding - this time was really good too, and I am beginning to really enjoy it. We got to trot quite a bit - which took a while to get into the right up and down rhythm, and the guides held onto our horses while on theirs and we got to gallop alongside them which was awesome! Got back to the farm just as the others who didn't come horse riding turned up. We had an insanely delicious Argentinian BBQ - so nice to have a nice meal for once and lots of wine before heading back to Salta. Pretty exhausted when we got back so went and got an ice cream with the others and I went to the pharmacy while they (all drunk from the wine) went to the casino. Shame we didn't have more time in Salta as it was a beautiful city - the most normal/familiar city we have seen in a while - quite European looking too.
Up at 3.30am to catch our flight to Buenos Aires. In true fashion, our flight was delayed two hours so we slept at the airport and then on flight. Flying into the city - it was beautiful, and then the bus to our hotel showed more of the city. A mixture of so many cities! There were very Parisian buildings and then a port that looked like Sydney or Dublin or England and areas that could have been New York. Very disappointed I am only here one day as it seems an amazing city to explore. We dumped our bags and went on a walking tour with our guide who is actually from here, so got a really good history of the place. Headed back and got into our rooms - set my alarm for am not pm so had a two hour nap rather than a 20 min one! Got ready in a rush and had our last meeting (thanked our guide and tipped her - she gave us all cute BA fridge magnets) and then headed to a tango show with a lovely dinner (and a litre beer) and a little tango lesson. I was hopeless! Most of the others headed out after so had to say a tearful goodbye to them then. Really sad to leave them all, we've been together so long now I highly doubt my next group will live up to them!
